About Sydney Adventist School Auburn

Who we are

Sydney Adventist School is a smaller independent Christian Primary school in the Auburn area.

We have been serving families in the Cumberland local government area since 1917 and have a rich history to our name. Our teachers are dedicated to helping our students develop important qualities and equipping them with the skills necessary to meet future challenges head on with confidence. We also emphasize the importance of cultivating a moral character so that our students are aware of the value and impact they can add to the environment around them, both inside the school and out.

We believe everything that we do here is based on Jesus’ teachings and Faith, to create a space that is both supportive and nurturing and instils the central values of respect, integrity, service, and endurance which are so much a part of learning effectively and growing as a community. Our students are encouraged to serve one another just as Jesus served us, and to conduct themselves in such a manner where they can show integrity and respect to persons around them. Through enduring our students learn to move forward when encountering difficulties and improve and self-correct issues when they encounter difficulties and make mistakes.

Part of our strategic plan involves further supporting a student voice and wellbeing in our schools. Together with our elected student representative council team and teachers we have been able to gather useful information and valuable input from our students as to how best they learn and how best we can cater for their needs and improve our school setting.

Our students are provided a thorough grounding in all key learning areas and are given the opportunities to reach their full potential to be the best version of themselves. Our school is known for its family feel and it’s care for individual student needs. The school has been steadily growing and over the years has introduced improved academic outcomes with the systematic implementation of explicit instruction as well as initiating a process for helping and supporting our staff to develop teaching proficiency for the best delivery of our numeracy and literacy programs through various training courses. Our screener data along with other assessment data including NAPLAN results reveal that our students have been making real improvements in understanding in both the areas of Numeracy and Literacy.

We are extremely grateful with the progress we are making, and we believe that we are helping to shape the lives of young people by developing their whole self to become good citizens whole excel in their personal lives and support their communities with the love and character of Christ.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. It is our great hope that God is involved in leading of HIS students and will equip them for their future.
