Our Values

The SASA RISE Values

At Sydney Adventist School Auburn, we are guided by four core values – Respect, Integrity, Service, and Endurance. Together, these form our RISE values, shaping how we learn, live and grow as a community.

All students at SASA learn The SASA RISE Pledge, which calls us to live out these values each day.

Respect

We show respect for God, for ourselves, for others and for our school.

  • We love and honour God, sharing His love through worship and daily life (1 Peter 2:17).
  • We treat teachers, classmates and visitors with kindness and courtesy.
  • We value diversity, listen to others and celebrate the uniqueness of every individual.
  • We care for our school environment, property and the wider community.
Integrity

We strive to live with honesty, responsibility and strong moral character.

  • We speak truthfully and act in ways that build trust (Galatians 6:4-5).
  • We make good choices, even when it is difficult.
  • We take responsibility for our actions and respect what belongs to others.
  • We wear our uniform with pride, representing ourselves and our school with dignity.

Service

We are called to serve others with generosity, kindness and love.

  • We help, support and include those around us (Luke 6:31).
  • We look for ways to build others up and put their needs before our own (Philippians 2:1-3).
  • We use our gifts and talents to benefit our school, our community and God’s world.
  • We create a safe and caring environment where all can thrive (Psalms 121:7).

Endurance

We show courage, perseverance and a positive mindset in all we do.

  • We love learning and commit to always doing our best (Hebrews 11:6).
  • We “have a go” and don’t give up when challenges arise (Colossians 3:23).
  • We remain joyful, thankful, and resilient, even in difficult times (Philippians 4:4).
  • We approach every opportunity with energy, determination and faith.

The SASA RISE Pledge

At Sydney Adventist School Auburn,
I choose to live by the RISE values.

  • I will show Respect for God, myself and others.

  • I will live with Integrity, being honest and responsible.

  • I will show Service by helping, including and caring for others.

  • I will show Endurance by doing my best and never giving up.
This is the SASA Way.
Respect. Integrity. Service. Endurance. This is how we RISE.

Our Philosophy

We believe that the foundations for life are set in childhood, where the following skills and attitudes are developed:

  • Reverence for the things of God
  • Value for ones' self
  • Industry and the desire to learn
  • Cooperation with others
  • Willingness to meet new challenges
  • Desire to help those in need
  • Respect and acceptance of others
  • Wise decision making
  • We aim to nurture these skills, attitudes and values by example, through participation and instruction.

Adventist education is Bible-based, Christ-centred, service-oriented and Kingdom-directed. It aims for a balanced development in the lives of students, encouraging them to choose a personal relationship with Jesus, serving Him in this world until He comes again. These features, infused through the schools’ policies, procedures and practices provide the Special Character of Adventist Education, based on the fundamental beliefs and values of the Seventh-day Adventist church.
